Prajwal Revanna taken into police custody till June 18

Suspended Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) leader Prajwal Revanna was taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) again after obtaining a body warrant from the court. This comes days after a Karnataka court sent Prajwal to judicial custody till June 24.

The SIT will shift him to their custody from Parappana Agrahara prison. The court has remanded him to one week in police custody with the SIT for a case registered at the Cyber Police Station. He will remain in SIT custory till June 18.

Two cases have been registered at the CID Cyber Police Station. In one of those cases, the SIT has taken custody and begun the investigation.

The court, taking into consideration the gravity of the allegations and the evidence presented by the SIT, decided to remand him to judicial custody for 14 days, till June 24.

Prajwal had left the country in April for Germany as the sex tapes case came to light. Several lookout notices were issued against him at all immigration points around the world. He returned to Bengaluru on May 31 and was arrested by the SIT team. Following his arrest, he was sent to police custody till June 6 and was later extended till June 10.
